Library Above Forest

我们的提案旨在为仁川松岛新城创造一个兼具知识存储传输与市民文化活动为一体的地标建筑。该提案以一个漂浮在森林之上的盒子为宣言，以唤醒人类自然森林中的传统诗意阅读体验为契机，结合未来知识传播和阅读体验的发展趋势，激进地回应了当代公众对文化生活的全新诉求。

The library proposal aims to create an intellectual identity as well as a cultural icon for Songdo international city. The design creates a radical floating box as a public platform to manifest the knowledge, culture and architectural form. It portrays a refreshing new experience of reading within the forest and creates a unique experience of reading above the forest, echoing with human’s primitive fond of reading in the nature.landscape view, forming an extension of the building. Visitors can switch between “dynamic” and “static” to find unique ways to see the fields.we are interested in discussing how, in the post-covid-19 era, a library as a traditional public knowledge medium responds to the new demands of the public, how digital materials maintains and complements the advantages of traditional materials, and how the city infrastructure co-exists harmoniously with the nature.
