TheY Architects is a dynamic and creative international young design team led by Yao Yuan and Liu Yuze. "TheY" represents the possibility of the unknown—a creative response to the known, a poetic breakthrough beyond the conventional. Across varying scales and typologies, TheY seeks to uncover the imagination and potential of each place, transforming unseen possibilities into tangible spatial experiences. The studio adheres to its core philosophy of being “embedded within yet extending beyond architecture.” While focusing on fundamental architectural elements such as experience, place, materials, and construction, it actively explores the expansion of disciplinary boundaries through interdisciplinary integration. The studio's projects cover multiple types and scales, including cultural architecture, office buildings, commercial buildings, educational buildings, public spaces, urban renewal, interior design, exhibition and artistic design, etc. The studio has been honored with accolades such as the AD100 Young, Architizer A+ Awards, 4 Future Awards, and DNA Paris Awards, Muse Design Awards and has frequently achieved top recognition in various design competitions.
